After a disappointing 30-52 finish to a season with lofty expectations, the New Orleans Pelicans management will seek to retool its injury-riddled roster and get back on track in 2016-2017. One glaring weakness continues to exist on the wing, where the suddenly depleted Pelicans are expected to lose veteran snipers Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson.
To compound the free agent losses, the Pelicans are unsure as to the future of Quincy Pondexter. Pondexter’s knee underwent arthroscopic surgery following the 2015 playoff series with the Golden State Warriors, and after testing contact early in the 2016 campaign was forced to undergo surgery again in January to replace cartilage.
