The New Orleans Pelicans will begin their quest to rejoin the Western Conference elite at the Smoothie King Center on Wednesday, October 26 to kick off the 2016-17 calendar. They then face their first matchup against the Golden State Warriors two nights later in another home before flying to San Antonio to take on the Spurs the very next day in what is their first of 18 back-to-back games.
The new schedule sees them trading home and roadstands in a balanced way. There is a five-game East coast road trip in the middle of January, but those match-ups are, in order: Boston, New York, Brooklyn, Chicago, and Indiana.
