New Orleans Pelicans: sometimes, a win is just a win

Exactly two weeks separated the New Orleans Pelicans’ recent games against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the first game, Oklahoma pummeled the Pelicans into the dirt in route to a 121-95 victory in Oklahoma City. In New Orleans, though, things went a little differently.

With seemingly no-one interested in missing a shot, the Pelicans unleashed an offensive onslaught largely based on shooting, and they came away beating the Thunder 123-119. In typical fashion for a Pelicans’ win, the difference was the ability for role players and streaky contributors to get hot hands in the same game.

Norris Cole, Dante Cunningham and Toney Douglas all scored more in volume as well as dramatically improving their efficiency compared to their norms.
