With the number six pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the New Orleans Pelicans selected Buddy Hield, the long-range bomber and scorer from the University of Oklahoma. With trades of superstars and rumors the Pelicans could be shopping the pick, it didn’t feel like a sure thing until Minnesota took Kris Dunn with the fifth selection.
But now, in New Orleans, the Buddy Buckets era can finally begin.
The Pelicans surprised few by taking Buddy Hield with the number 6 pick in the draft. The Pelicans were just out of reach of the can’t-miss talents at the top, but Hield being available in the middle of the lottery is potentially a terrific bargain, especially with the expected departure of Eric Gordon into free agency in just over a week.
