As soon as our New Orleans Pelicans rank project was announced the way it would end was obvious. In fact, for the last two seasons this project has obviously ended the same way. Anthony Davis is the best player on the New Orleans Pelicans. And barring some catastrophic injury or incredible stroke of both lottery luck and a once in a lifetime type of player, Anthony Davis will be the best player on the Pelicans until he leaves them.
It isn’t a surprise that Davis got this good. When he entered the NBA Draft in 2012 out of Kentucky, Davis was the clear number one choice after drawing comparisons to just about every great big man in recent memory from Tim Duncan to Kevin Garnett.
