To put it simply, that was a devastating loss for the New Orleans Pelicans.
After holding a firm lead late into the game, the Pelicans could not keep their grip Friday night. With a three-point lead less than a minute to go into the contest, Jrue Holiday lost the ball on a swipe from Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi would score the easy bucket, to cut New Orleans’ lead by one.
Jrue would miss another shot and the Pelicans fouled again. San Antonio, who had problems at the free-throw line all night, only converted one attempt and tied the game.
