The New Orleans Pelicans regressed this season, obviously, but to allow Luke Babbitt to shoulder that blame is a bit unfair. Before the season, many envisioned him as the floor spacing wing the Pelicans needed and forgot that he is such a one dimensional player that he honestly may not have a place in the NBA. Babbitt did not regress so much as he failed to live up to the lofty expectations hoisted upon him.
When looking at his year over year stats, it is clear that Luke Babbitt did not actually regress in any meaningful way. His player efficiency rating was certainly far from ideal, but it has been almost entirely consistent over the past three seasons.
