Omer Asik has been the most disappointing part of the New Orleans Pelicans’ season thus far, as far as personnel is concerned. Committing to the lumbering big man over the summer to the tune of a four year guaranteed deal worth 44 million dollars, the Pelicans made quite the investment in Omer Asik and he has thoroughly underwhelmed to this point.
Starting the season injured, Asik struggled to find a place in Gentry’s rotation and played poorly when he returned from injury. Even when he established himself in the rotation, his performances were far from being worth the money the Pelicans committed to him.
