The injury bug continues to plague the New Orleans Pelicans before the new season even begins. The Pelicans announced that small forward Luke Babbitt suffered a left hamstring strain during Monday’s preseason game against the Chicago Bulls. There is no timetable set for Babbitt at the moment, with the plan being to set it at a later date. Luke Babbitt was set to take on a bigger role to start the season with the pre-existing injury to starting small forward Quincy Pondexter, however the forward bench options that were originally meant to play minute roles will be asked to make major contributions early on this season.
