With the 2016 NBA draft less than two weeks away, the New Orleans Pelicans have hired Danny Ferry as a special adviser. Given his success as general manager in Cleveland and Atlanta, it seems likely that Ferry will play a significant role in building a contender in New Orleans. That starts at the NBA draft on June 23rd.
Right now, several names and scenarios have been thrown around: Buddy Hield, Marquese Chriss and even trading down for Damian Jones. However, Dell Demps and Ferry could tag team by reaching out to other franchises for an alternative solution: get the Pelicans out of the NBA draft and back into the playoffs by acquiring the veteran help they need.
