The last two games, contests against the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Clippers, were good performances by the New Orleans Pelicans. Regardless of the fact that they lost, the Pelicans played hard for every minute and were in position to win both of those games. Instead of continuing the positive trend, the Pelicans played an awful game against the Lakers and managed to lose a very winnable game.
Despite being in control for almost the entirety of the game, the Pelicans lost to the Lakers, arguably the worst team in the NBA right now. Without Anthony Davis, the Pelicans were never able to pull away, and the Lakers stayed within striking distance for the entire game.
