The New Orleans Pelicans plan was clear very early on in free agency. The team was going to do all it could to lock in the core of last year’s team minus a piece or two and hope that a season of health and a new system from Alvin Gentry could provide enough growth for the team to have a plan going forward. After a surprise agreement this afternoon to bring back Alexis Ajinca for four years, the Pelicans have no finished out the hard work by agreeing to a contract with their other free agent center, Omer Asik according to reports.
