Following a trade on Wednesday that sent Tim Frazier to the Washington Wizards, the New Orleans Pelicans will have the privilege of making two picks in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Normally, the 40th pick doesn’t deserve much fanfare — and the 52nd pick even less so — but plenty of serviceable talent is expected to still be on the board. Don’t rule out the idea of the Pelicans making another trade, either packaging both second round picks to move up in the draft a la one season ago when they nabbed Cheick Diallo or sending out a pick(s) in an exchange for an established player in the league.
