Ninety minutes before tip-off Monday, it remained uncertain whether Jrue Holiday would start vs. New York, but the good news was that the point guard will be back in uniform against the Knicks. Holiday had missed the previous two games vs. Indiana and Toronto due to toe soreness.
“It’s a nagging thing with the toe,” Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry said. “But he’s going to give it a go tonight.”
New Orleans (26-46) had played the games against the Pacers and Raptors without any of its top six scorers this season. Holiday provides the Pelicans with a much-needed, bona fide scoring option, averaging 16.
