OAKLAND – In addition to a handful of other key players who are sidelined by injury, New Orleans will be without its projected starting point guard, Jrue Holiday, who is being held out of Tuesday’s game at Golden State. Holiday is not playing in back-to-backs until he is cleared to do so by medical staff, so he will sit tonight, before making his 2015-16 season debut Wednesday at Portland. He will be on a 20-minute restriction against the Trail Blazers.
“We had a really hard practice two days ago,” Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry said. “With the game coming right now and a game tomorrow night, we felt like from a medical standpoint, we were much better off resting him and then playing him tomorrow night.
