Jrue Holiday’s season debut Friday went about as well as anyone could’ve expected – he scored 21 points and handed out seven assists in only 23 minutes of playing time. But just because the guard excelled while playing for the first time in seven-plus months, that doesn’t mean New Orleans (3-10) will handle him as though everything is back to normal.
Prior to Saturday’s home game vs. Charlotte, second-year head coach Alvin Gentry said he plans to again keep Holiday to no more than 30 minutes of action. Tim Frazier remained the starter in the 113-101 win against the Trail Blazers, allowing Holiday to come off the bench in his first NBA appearance since March.
