Looking ahead to next season the goals for the New Orleans Pelicans seem clear. First and foremost being keep Anthony Davis happy with staying healthy and making the playoffs following that. While the health part can’t really be predicted, making the playoffs can and while the Western Conference is getting better every day history tells us the Pelicans should be in fairly easily.
As it turns out, five out of the last six teams to finish as the eighth seed in the Western Conference improved the next season to finish even higher in the playoff seeding, with the one team that failed to improve being the 2011-2012 Jazz who missed the playoffs next season and finished ninth.
