After fracturing his left pinky finger last night in the first quarter against the New York Knicks, Elfrid Payton landed back on the injury report, but minutes ago Alvin Gentry announced his starting point will have surgery to repair the damage. A timetable for return will be made available following the procedure.
Despite the heavy loss to the rotation, the New Orleans Pelicans will have the use of Anthony Davis this time round versus the Denver Nuggets. In the teams’ last meeting, the Pelicans were without Davis, Payton and Darius Miller, but New Orleans still had a chance to win in the final minute.
