2) The Pelicans (15-24) are back in game action Thursday, visiting Brooklyn (8-29) at 6:30 p.m. Central.
3) In a recently rarity, multiple teams just ahead of New Orleans in the Western Conference standings won last night, with Portland (17-23) and Sacramento (16-22) prevailing over the Lakers and Detroit, respectively. As a result, the Pelicans are 1.5 games out of eighth place in the West, approaching the halfway point of 2016-17.
