Five things to know about Pelicans forward Omri Casspi

1) New Orleans fans should be happy he’s wearing their uniform now, instead of the opposition’s. The sixth-best scoring game of his NBA career came on Nov. 25, 2014, when he tallied 22 points (on 9/14 shooting) to help Sacramento win 99-89 in the Smoothie King Center, against a Pelicans team that eventually made the playoffs that season. Probably entirely coincidentally, Casspi has made more career starts against New Orleans (eight) than any other NBA team except Phoenix (nine).

2) In 2009, Casspi became the first Israeli player ever chosen in the first round of the NBA draft, as well as the first to appear in an NBA game.
