The 2024-25 season for the New Orleans Pelicans was one marked by injuries, off-court struggles, and disasters. No disaster was much bigger than when Dejounte Murray tore his Achilles on January 31st against the Boston Celtics.
During the 2024 offseason, the Pelicans front office was searching for someone to run the show, someone who could lead on and off the court. And they believed they found that guy in Dejounte Murray, but between personal issues he had to deal with and fracturing his hand and tearing his Achilles, his time with the NOLA last season only lasted 31 games.
