Among current players on the New Orleans roster, Dante Cunningham has appeared in the fourth-most games this season. It was a bit in doubt earlier Tuesday, but Cunningham is now expected to play in his 52nd contest of 2016-17, with Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry saying the combo forward is battling through an illness. Cunningham was listed as questionable on the team’s injury report this morning.
“He’s feeling OK. He’s been sick,” Gentry said. “He’s going to give it a go tonight. We kept him out of everything yesterday (at practice) and shootaround today.”
The eighth-year NBA veteran is coming off one of his best performances of the season, scoring 14 points on 6/7 shooting at Charlotte in an overtime win Saturday.
