Bird Feed: Jrue Holiday has procedure to remove troublesome screw

New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to remove a screw from his surgically repaired lower right leg.

It is the second consecutive year, Holiday has required surgery to be performed on his lower right leg. Last year, Holiday had surgery to implant a steel rod in his right tibia after suffering a stress fracture.

Last week, Holiday said the screw was put in to hold the steel rod in his right leg.

''I have one screw and I want to get that out but they don't have to,'' Holiday said last week.
