Ball movement one key to improving New Orleans offense with new faces

CHARLOTTE – By virtue of a February trade, New Orleans (25-40) now has the NBA’s fourth- and sixth-leading scorers, but with the combination on the floor, the Pelicans have not shown noticeable improvement offensively, ranking 27th in efficiency (101.6 points per 100 possessions, via NBA.com) since the All-Star break. A key to dramatically increasing their effectiveness may come from better movement of the ball, which could also impact the team’s three-point shooting, which has also struggled. Over eight games since the Feb. 23 New Orleans debut of DeMarcus Cousins, the Pelicans are 29th in three-point accuracy, ahead of only Orlando.
