Things could be better for the star of the New Orleans Pelicans. With the announcement on Friday of the NBA’s All-Star rosters, we know now that Anthony Davis needs an All-NBA nomination at the end of the season to put the Rose rule into effect on his contract extension. While that is good news for the New Orleans Pelicans, it is surely bad news for Davis, and the news is hopefully an incentive to lead the team to last year’s second-half heights.
While money is obviously the main inspiration for an NBA player to do their job, Davis has improved every team he’s ever played on, so losing is probably worse than a lower percentage of the cap than he was expecting on his five year super max.
