ORLANDO – New Orleans expects its second-most important player, Jrue Holiday, to be in uniform Friday vs. Portland, but will be without All-Star forward Anthony Davis on Wednesday when it faces the Orlando Magic. Ninety minutes prior to tip-off at Amway Center, second-year head coach Alvin Gentry said Davis has been ruled out of the interconference matchup. The 23-year-old sustained a bruised right quad during Monday’s win over Boston.
“He’s not going to be able to go tonight,” Gentry said. “It’s really kind of a weird thing, because he got a hit in the thigh and didn’t think really anything of it.
