Anthony Davis will miss second game with hip injury

TORONTO – Anthony Davis tried to put himself in position to play in Friday’s game vs. Toronto, but will miss a second straight game, according to Alvin Gentry.

“Anthony tried,” Gentry said. “He won’t go tonight. It’s not worth the risk. He’s not feeling great.”

Asked if Davis (right hip contusion) is close to a return, Gentry said, “I hate to speculate either way. He’ll continue to work. When he feels like he can play, I don’t have any doubt that he’ll be back out there as soon as he possibly can.”

New Orleans (1-7) next plays Sunday afternoon at New York, followed by a mid-week back-to-back Tuesday and Wednesday vs.
