As New Orleans forward Ryan Anderson recently pointed out, teammate Anthony Davis is living in a veritable fish bowl, with countless media members and fans focused intently on the 22-year-old’s every move.
“I don’t know from experience, but it’s got to be tough when every news outlet and all eyes are on you,” Anderson said of Davis’ daily existence. “He handles it so well and is humble. He’s done a great job with that.”
New Orleans’ seven-game preseason scheduled was a rare instance, however, when Davis managed to perform his job a bit under the spotlight. With fewer than half of the Pelicans’ exhibition contests televised by either team, the 6-foot-10 power forward toiled in relatively obscurity, at least by NBA standards.
