Anthony Davis out against Hawks with right hip contusion

ATLANTA – Just seven games into the regular season, only seven New Orleans Pelicans players had appeared in every contest, a result of injuries across much of the roster. One Pelican who enjoyed “perfect attendance” through the first two weeks of 2015-16 was Anthony Davis, but that run will end in Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. After sitting the second half Tuesday vs. Dallas, the two-time All-Star will sit tonight. His status for Friday’s game at Toronto will be evaluated over the next two days.

“He’s not going to play tonight,” Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry said of the 22-year-old.
