NEW ORLEANS – The NBA announced today that Pelicans forward Anthony Davis has been named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. The distinction is the first in Davis’ three years in the NBA.
Davis, 6-10, 220, led the league in both blocks per game (2.9) and total blocked shots (200). Additionally, Davis averaged 7.7 defensive rebounds per game, good for seventh highest in the NBA, and 1.5 steals, the sixth highest average among forwards. Davis, who led the team in rebounding in 40 contests this season, now ranks fifth all-time in franchise history (1,891) and became the franchise’s all-time leader in blocked shots on April 4 in a home contest against Detroit.
