Fair to say it was a pretty happy 24th birthday for New Orleans Pelicans forwardAnthony Davis.
Davis finished with 46 points and 21 rebounds in an overtime win over the Hornets. That marked the third 40-point, 20-rebound game of his career, the most among active players. In fact, it’s the second-most over the last 30 seasons. The only player with more is Shaquille O’Neal with four.
Davis has the last three 40-20s in the NBA. He and O’Neal have seven of the last 10 in the regular season, with Dwight Howard, Chris Webber and Antonio McDyess having the other three.
