The NBA All-Star Game fan vote is one of the most incredible things about the NBA sesaon. Gifted the tremendous power of an online vote, fans from cities all over the world (we’ll get to that important point in a moment) push their players up the leaderboards one online ballot at a time, from December through February. Those players are not always more worthy of these votes than their counterparts. Case in point: after about a month of voting, Anthony Davis sits fourth in the West’s frontcourt rankings.
The players who sit in front of him are Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs, and two members of the Golden State Warriors’ starting frontcourt.
