Anthony Davis Falls Short of All-NBA Team

Ouch.

That’s the sound of Anthony Davis falling nine votes short of the third team All-NBA and implementing the “Rose Rule” in his contract. The rule is instituted to allow a player finishing the life of his rookie contract to access 30 percent of a team’s salary cap, instead of the standard 25 percent.

The Rose Rule was created to reward a young player on his rookie deal with a substantial raise for earning MVP honors, being voted twice as a starter in the NBA All Star Game or twice being voted to any of the three All NBA teams.
