His season officially ended March 20, but Anthony Davis was spotted regularly during the New Orleans Pelicans’ final few road trips, discussing basketball with some of his less experienced teammates and providing moral support during games. At first, the three-time All-Star was forced to get around on crutches, the result of a procedure on his left knee, but he’s now more mobile in the early stages of his eventual return to the court. It’s a process he estimates will take 4-5 months.
“I just got off the crutches (April 8), so I still have three more months before I’m able to step back on the floor,” Davis said on Pelicans TV with sideline reporter Jennifer Hale.
