Anthony Davis was an Olympic gold medalist in 2012, a standout in USA Basketball’s workouts and showcase game in 2013, then a FIBA World Cup champion in 2014. So it came as no surprise Thursday when Davis was among the 34 players invited to participate in USAB’s training camp next week in Las Vegas.
The 35 players, who represent a total of 21 different NBA teams, have the option of participating in the workouts on UNLV’s campus, with 2015 being a summer without an Olympics or World Cup. The next major competition for the men’s senior national team will be in August 2016, when Brazil hosts the Summer Olympics.
