CLEVELAND – Alvin Gentry’s organized playing career culminated in 1977, when the college point guard graduated from Appalachian State. Thirty-eight years later, however, the 60-year-old Gentry is still dunking.
New Orleans’ new head coach, who will officially take over the helm after the NBA Finals, caused a stir during a Golden State Warriors practice Monday, when he threw down a dunk (OK, so he used a wall for some extra lift).
It was another example of how loose Golden State has been while taking a 3-2 lead over Cleveland in the NBA Finals, in pursuit of the Warriors’ first championship in 40 years.
