Tonight was a mess. The New Orleans Pelicans and Phoenix Suns combined to score nearly 150 points in the first half and then took turns dominating the third and fourth quarters, culminating in a one-sided overtime period.
Throughout the third quarter, in which they were outscored by 12, the Pelicans looked as bad as they have at any point this year. But then, in the fourth, they looked like the promising, scrappy team many hoped they would look like entering the year.
However, in overtime, it was like they’d exerted all their energy coming back and had nothing left to give, ultimately falling by seven points.
