Since winning the NBA Draft Lottery in June, the minds of the basketball-interested folks here in the Big Easy have been circling the arrival of one player as the team begins its rebrand. Zion Williamson hasn’t been able to play a game in New Orleans just yet, but that day is soon arriving.
Returning to practice last week for the first time since tearing his right meniscus after an incredible preseason, each day puts the rookie’s eventual first game in a Pelicans uniform closer to reality.
While it seems that Williamson won’t be on the court until after the calendar turns to 2020, it’s smart for the already terrible New Orleans Pelicans to wait until the rookie is in incredible shape to put him back on the basketball court.
