Anthony Davis is in Hong Kong right now. His latest update on Twitter this afternoon made it appear he is on business with Nike. However, at 12:01 AM eastern he could officially sign his extension with the New Orleans Pelicans. Despite his business ventures, despite it being just after noon in Hong Kong, Davis made a point to sign on the dotted line at the absolute earliest opportunity.
This is the right thing for New Orleans to do. Yes, they could hypothetically have more cap space by waiting to sign Davis next summer to the exact same contract.
