News just broke that Mo Williams will be signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers, reuniting with LeBron James who he teamed up with from 2008-2010. Williams earned an All-Star selection to the 2009 All-Star Game while in Cleveland, averaging nearly 18 points a game. Interestingly, the New Orleans Pelicans were also involved.
The Pelicans, considering how much of the Mid-Level Exception they could offer since some is dedicated to Dante Cunningham, may have exceeded the Cavs offer. Utilizing the entire MLE would hard cap the Pelicans at the apron, $4 million above the luxury tax line.
