Pelicans Rumors Roundup: New Orleans Open To Trading No. 6 Pick And Prefer Jamal Murray?

The New Orleans Pelicans hold the No. 6 overall pick in the NBA Draft after a disastrous season plagued with injuries. With the NBA Draft just a a few hours away the NBA Draft rumor mill is cranking at full speed. The Pelicans are the subject of a few of those rumblings. Here are the latest Pelicans rumors you need to know.

Pelicans Looking To Trade Pick?
According to ESPN Insider Chad Ford, the Pelicans are one of the several teams in the lottery trying to trade their first round pick.

The Pelicans are also looking for trade partners. GM Dell Demps is under fire, and his goal is to move the Pelicans from the lottery to the playoffs next season. Any player they select at No. 6 is unlikely to significantly affect that.

Ford might be selling the No. 6 pick a bit short, as there are several quality players that could be on the board. It seems more likely than not that the Pelicans will keep their pick, and the big question for the team is who they'll land.

Murray The Top Target?
The Pelicans are likely to add a guard in the draft, and their top target might be Kentucky's Jamal Murray.

However, the Pelicans' beat writer for the New Orleans Advocate isn't so sure.

The Pelicans are likely to end up with one of the top three guards this year: Kris Dunn, Buddy Hield or Murray. The Suns won't be adding a guard this year, so that will allow at least one to drop to New Orleans.
