ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico State women's tennis team completed the first day of action at Halloween Howl tournament on Friday.
Doubles action opened up in favor of Yadira Rubio and Vanessa Valdez when they took down New Mexico's pair of Danielle Quevedo and Diana Wong 6-4. However, the Lobos took the next two doubles matches.
In singles play, Rubio claimed a hard-fought 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 victory over NAU's Cora-Lynn Von Dungern after dropping her first set. Eli Arnaudova also picked up a win for the Aggies, besting the Lumberjacks' Ellie Millard 6-4, 6-4 in the fifth singles flight match.
