LAS CRUCES – Veteran radio newscaster, longtime NM State play-by-play broadcaster and "Voice of the Aggies," Jack Nixon will be receiving the Mayor's Distinguished Service Award on Monday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m. during the Las Cruces City Council Meeting inside City Hall located on 700 N. Main St.
Nixon is entering his 37th year as the "Voice of the Aggies," and has been on the call for various sports at New Mexico State during his time in Las Cruces. His tenure at NM State saw him call many important moments in Aggie Athletics history, including NCAA Tournament broadcasts for men's and women's basketball, volleyball and softball.
