WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Longtime New Mexico State play-by-play man and US Bank/NM State Hall of Famer Jack Nixon was awarded the National Sports Media Association Sportscaster of the Year for the state of New Mexico.
This is the third time Nixon has earned national sportscaster of the year recognition after earning the same accolade in 1980 and 2013.
"It is gratifying to receive an award that is voted upon by your peers," said Nixon. "I am humbled and appreciated of this recognition."
Nixon, in his 38th season with Aggie Athletics, has been a constant throughout the years for Aggie fans and has had the call on various memorable moments in NM State history.
