ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Two Fresno State pitchers teamed to hold New Mexico to three singles as the No. 23-ranked Bulldogs beat the host Lobos 6-2 in softball Saturday.
“Our offense needs to capitalize on scoring situations,” said UNM head coach Erica Beach. “Their pitcher put a ton of our runners on and we didn’t get that clutch hit. We need to be able to put up more runs.”
The Lobos (18-16, 3-5 Mountain West) will try to salvage a game in the three-game set today at noon at the Lobo Softball Field. Fresno State improved to 26-9-1 overall, 8-0 in the Mountain West.
