LAS CRUCES, N.M. – It all starts up front. Newly appointed head coach, Tony Sanchez, announced Thursday that the man that will lead that charge on the defensive side of the ball will be Joe Morris.
Morris joins the Aggie staff after three seasons at Sam Houston where he served as the defensive coordinator and defensive ends coach for his final two seasons with the Bearkats.
Last season, Morris helped lead a Bearkat defense which led Conference USA in first downs allowed while finishing in the top five in the league in scoring defense, pass defense, fumbles recovered, turnover margin and opponent third-down conversion percentage.
