BOULDER CITY, Nev. – After one round, Garrison Smith leads the field by two strokes at the 2023 WAC Men's Golf Championships in Boulder City, Nevada. As a team, NM State remains in second place, trailing only Sam Houston. On Friday, the Aggies shot 277 (-11) as a team and will enter Saturday just three shots behind the Bearkats.
For the second time in his career, Smith fired a 64 in the opening round of the WAC Championships. In 2021, Smith went eight-under in the first round before shooting a 210 (-6) for the tournament, finishing in third.
