CHICAGO, Ill. – Senior Ashvarya Shrivastav clinched the winning point for the NM State women's tennis team in a back-and-forth battle with UMKC on Friday at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club.
With the match tied at 3-3, Shrivastav defeated UMKC's Dimitra Starvrianakou 7-5 6-3 to give New Mexico State the 4-3 victory and remain undefeated in Western Athletic Conference play.
Despite playing without its hottest player at the moment, Rimpledeep Kaur, NM State (8-7, 3-0 WAC) was able to rally back after dropping the doubles point for the first time in conference play.
