DENVER – Pun Chanachai was named Western Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday. The freshman led NM State women's golf to one of their best finishes of the season as the team finished second, ahead of five teams ranked above them.
Chanachai finished in third overall against a stacked field as she was in the top-10 from the beginning, before finishing with her best round to finish in the top-three. The final round of 69 (-3) was the best of Chanachai's career and the finish was the fourth time the freshman placed in the top-25 and second time in the top-10 this season.
