LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Niall Powell has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Powell is one of 1,018 student-athletes from across the Division I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA level to earn the GCAA's top academic award this year. To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status in 2019-20, the student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically, recorded a stroke average under 76.0, maintained a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2 and participated in 40% of the team's competitive rounds.
The native of Drybrook, England, competed in five tournaments this past season, which was cut short due to coronavirus.
